Diagnostic test for Giardia Ag for small animals

Giardia is a protozoan parasite that can infect the gastrointestinal tract of dogs. It is capable of causing diarrhea, vomiting, weight loss and lethargy — although many infected animals show no signs at all. The dog or cat can get infected by eating or sniffing the cysts from contaminated ground, or by drinking contaminated water. Once the parasite is in your pet's intestines, your animal can spread the parasite, even if it doesn’t show any signs of infection. Unlike many other infectious organisms, Giardia persists longer in the environment when conditions are cool and moist. The disease is particularly dangerous for puppies, senior dogs, and dogs with compromised immune systems. The odds of humans being infected with Giardia from dogs and cats is relatively low, although it can happen.

With REDTEST Rapid Diagnostic Giardia Test you can detect Giardia infection in your animal companion and provide them with proper treatment.
