Diagnostic test for Newcastle Disease Virus (NDV Ag)
The rapid immunochromatographic test is used to detect Newcastle disease (NDV) antigens in poultry in serum or secretions. The source of infection is mainly direct and indirect contact with sick or dead birds that secrete the virus in excrements or secretions from the respiratory tract. The virus spreads rapidly. The incubation period is 5-15 days. Typical symptoms are mainly related to the respiratory system, i.e. dyspnoea, difficult breathing, wheezing, wheezing, stenosis, accompanied by nervous symptoms. Production in laying hens significantly decreases. Death in acute form may occur after 3-4 days.
In Poland, Newcastle disease is covered by a prevention programme.
Thanks to the test, it is possible to quickly check whether the individuals in the poultry house are carriers of the Newcastle disease virus. With a quick diagnostic test you will receive the results in just 10 minutes!
