Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease of humans and animals, occurring especially in warm climates. Responsible for the disease are single-cell protozoa (flagellates) of the genus Leishmania, it is transmitted by sandflies and mosquitoes of the genus Lutzomyia and Phlebotomus. Symptoms depend on the form of the disease. The most common are: changes in the skin, eyeballs, regional or generalized enlargement of lymph nodes, weight loss, weakness and damage to the glomerulus. Followed by lameness and muscle weakness. The disease, in most cases, survives a long time in latent form.
