PCV-2 is the major cause of ravaging postweaning multisystemic wasting syndrome (PMWS), which affects nursery and growing pigs and causes major economic issues. The most frequent clinical signs of PMWS include: unthriftiness, dyspnea, pallor, rough hair coat, diarrhea, and jaundice. There is no direct treatment for PCV-2, only to address secondary infections.
